Jamieson is an experienced Canadian tax lawyer with expertise in M&A structures, trusts, corporate tax planning, corporate reorganizations (including divisive reorganizations), estate planning, objections and appeals of tax assessments, aboriginal taxation, oil and gas tax, executive and employee compensation structures (public and private corporations), and general corporate and commercial law, commercial leasing, and aviation law including aircraft leasing, purchasing, and tax effective international operating structures. As well as being a Canadian tax lawyer Jamieson is also an experienced international aviator with over ten thousand hours of flying time in both large jet airliners and large corporate jet aircraft. Jamieson has also served as a senior member of the operational management team at Canada’s largest private aerospace company. As an entrepreneur he has also been a founding shareholder and director at a successful privately held Canadian construction company and an aviation consulting firm which serves the needs of various publically traded multi-national mining and oil and gas companies. Jamieson has extensive legal and business expertise and experience working in North America, Europe, Africa, South America and Asia and has provided advice and general counsel to a wide array of multi-national private and public corporations, income trusts, partnerships, tax-exempt entities and high net worth individuals. Jamieson is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Alberta Bar Association, the Canadian Petroluem Tax Society and the Canadian Tax Foundation. Through his law practice, aviation and business interests, Jamieson has international relationships with leaders in law, aviation, accounting, engineering, investment banking, project management and government. Jamieson Collins graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Law in 2005 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2006 and the Alberta Bar in 2007.
